I LOVE FRENCH FRIES AND KETCHUP! There I said it. But I eat healthy, so fried French Fries just don’t fit into my diet. UUUUGGGGHHHH. But I have a recipe. A Guilt Free, Delicious, Crispy, French Fry recipe that you can make at home with REAL POTATOES, not the processed stuff. This recipe does require some prep time but it is soooooooo worth it. Pair these with your favorite veggie burger or sandwich and you are back in the game baby! Lets go over a few things first!
1. Don’t cut the potatoes too thick! Try and keep the size uniform so they will all cook evenly.
2. DO soak your potatoes (after you cut them) for 30 minutes to remove the starch! This is highly important if you want crispy fries. Use Ice cold water please!
3. After you drain your fries you must DRY THEM. This removes the moisture from the fries. If the fries are wet they will steam in the oven and become soggy, and we don’t want that.
4. DO NOT pile the fries on top of each other. Give them some room to breathe.
5. DO COOK your fries in the oven at 425 degrees for about 45 minutes and toss them around a few times. Cooking time will depend on how thick your fries are cut.
You do this your fries will be bomb! I can cook fries in my air fryer but only in small batches. This method is good when you want to make more than one serving at a time.
