Rioting across France has reduced, with the country deploying tens of thousands of police in cities in anticipation of a fifth day of nationwide unrest.
Nahel, a 17-year-old of Algerian and Moroccan descent whose killing by police sparked the ongoing protests, was laid to rest in the Paris suburb of Nanterre on Saturday afternoon local time.
Some 45,000 police were again on the street on Saturday night, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said, with reinforcements going to Lyon and Marseille.
