The Tonbridge Food and Drink festival once again proved to be the festival to be at for the best street food from across the UK. The sun was shining down on the historic Tonbridge castle and its grounds as thousands of foodies arrived for the first day of the Tonbridge Food festival. Today, I had my sights firmly set on a German sausage stand that cooks an assortment of very tasty German sausages in HUGE open frying pans. This stand is run by the awesome Hollie, who I talked shop with as she cooked her gorgeous sausages up! Hollie’s German sausage business is based in Cambridge, a super example of a well-respected street food business that travels all the way to Tonbridge to be at the brilliant festival.
I then watched Giovanni ‘the cheese maestro’ at work at the legendary Heritage Cheese stand. Listen out for the gorgonzola ‘squelch’ as Giovanni scoops some out for a discerning customer. Heritage Cheese have a long running residency at London’s iconic Borough Market – a clear indication of the quality of their cheese and customer service.
