📝 *** THE RECIPE *** 📝
Rump Roast – 1 (Chuck, Bottom Round etc) Ask for a slow cooker beef.
Onions – 3 (cut into large, fat rings).
Worcestershire Sauce – 1 Tbsp.
Dark Soy Sauce – 1 Tbsp.
Red Wine – 1 cup. ( can replace with beef stock or tomato juice)
Thyme – 2 tsp..
Black Pepper – to taste (usually about 1/8th tsp.).
Garlic – 1Tbsp (crushed).
Bay Leaves – 3
Beef Stock (bullion) – 8 cups.
Thickening the broth is optional and how thick is your choice.
We prefer a hot broth.
However a rough guide to thickening is as follows….
Cornstarch (cornflour) – About 1 Tbsp mixed in cold water.
Gravy Mix – About 1Tbsp mixed in cold water.
Roux – 1/4 cup crumble and stir in vigorously (research beurre manié).
