We started our wine journey in 2013 and then we were sampling mostly red wines. In 2022 we delved into Rose and White Wines. Canada has some amazing wineries and Burrowing Owl in the Okanagan, British Columbia is one of our favorite Canadian/Okanagan wineries. Owned and operated by the Wyse Family since 1993, they have been producing some amazing wines.

In glass today is a 2020 VQA Burrowing Owl Chardonnay. This is a luxurious wine with notes of citrus, pineapple, apricot, mango with moderate sweetness and a hint of caramel/green apple. Super nice white wine. Take note of our Gas Monkey Garage T-Shirts…massive automotive fans and what better way to display our love for Richard Rawlings, his TV show and wine!

On Vivino this is rated at 3.8/5…we gave it a 4.0/5 from our sampling. We would definitely buy again….every wine we’ve had from this winery has been solid!. Bought from Ingredients, SK for $48 per bottle.

Winemakers notes: Southern Okanagan estate fruit was whole cluster pressed and fermented in a mix of stainless (15%) and oak barrels, before aging on lees in wood (84% French, 12% American, 4% Russian), with 63% new oak. Ripe peach, mango, and lemon sherbet is layered with nuts, popcorn, caramel, and vanillin oak. Full bodied and rich on the palate with crisp acidity and toasty oak, shortbread and custard.
