French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire says Paris will proceed with taxing revenues of major tech firms. He also urges the United States not to bring trade tariffs into the debate. This comes after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to tax French wines in response to France’s digital services tax. Trump says the tariff unjustly targets U.S. companies. Le Maire reiterated President Macron’s assurance that France would lift the digital tax if there is a universal deal.
