The History of Bar-A-Thym

Bar-A-Thym, which is a play on words, was born out of Francois Mermilliod’s desire to express himself in a manner that is free and fun yet recognizing the critical balance of our fragile ecosystem by adopting sustainable and ethical food procurement practices. Mermilliod, who is from the south of France, has always been passionate about cooking and wanted to bring the taste of his homeland to Singapore.

After working in several restaurants in Singapore and around the world, Mermilliod finally decided to open his own restaurant, which he called Bar-A-Thym. The restaurant has been a success since its opening in 2012 and has received many accolades, including being awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
