Thank you Jamie for the treat @the fat duck restaurant in the village of Bray in Maidenhead, Berkshire. It was certainly an experience to dine at this prestigious three Michelin stars by Heston Blumenthal- the Anthology menu volume 1 was full of theatrics and certainly a gastronomic journey of 11 unusual courses that tickled our taste buds. Each one were all memorable from the crab ice cream , snail porridge (cooked with oats instead of rice) cookery inventions that only Heston could conjure over the years. We loved all of it.
We couldn’t pick a favourite as we enjoyed each morsel but the main course (the coronation feast of James 11 & queen Mary in 1865) was most definitely the best – beef that melts in the mouth accompanied by top ingredients such as caviar, truffle, oysters & wild mushroom ketchup etc.
The use of props for each courses increased our anticipation of what is to come from the ambient lighting to the use of liquid nitrogen and dry ice kept us talking and entertained throughout. Jamie got so intrigued by the magnetic pillow that was used to serve the first part of the dessert he had to pick it up but struggled to replaced it but eventually restored it phew!😂 The service was efficient and very entertaining.
Overall a very unforgettable dining experience it’s not surprising they have three #Michelinstars a bucketlist ticked for us. #finedining
