France pension protesters set fire to Macron’s favoured La Rotonde bistro in Paris.
Riot police clashed with demonstrators in Paris on Thursday as part of a new round of nationwide protests and strikes against a contentious pension bill. In the capital, protestors targeted La Rotonde, a preferred restaurant of President Emmanuel Macron, whose popularity has soured since his government forced through legislation without a parliamentary vote in March. Hundreds of thousands turned out nationwide following a breakdown in talks between trade union leaders and French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne yesterday.
