Ingredients:

4-5 medium-sized potatoes
2 cups vegetable oil
Salt to taste

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin, even strips using a sharp knife or a mandoline slicer. Rinse the potato slices in cold water to remove excess starch.

Soak the potato slices in a large bowl of cold water for 30 minutes. This helps to remove more starch from the potatoes and makes them crispier when fried.

Drain the potato slices and pat them dry with paper towels.

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).

Working in batches, carefully add the potato slices to the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Use a slotted spoon or a wire mesh strainer to remove the fried potatoes from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil.
