Chicken Cordon Bleu Recipe
Chicken Cordon Bleu is a classic French dish made from chicken breasts stuffed with ham and cheese. Here is a simple recipe to make it:
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
8 thin slices of ham
8 thin slices of Swiss cheese
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil or cooking spray
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place a chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound it with a meat mallet until it’s an even thickness. Repeat with the remaining chicken breasts.
Place two slices of ham and two slices of cheese on top of each pounded chicken breast. Roll up the chicken tightly around the filling.
Place the flour in a shallow dish and season with salt and pepper. Crack the eggs into another shallow dish and beat well. Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
Coat each chicken roll in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip in the beaten eggs, then coat in the breadcrumbs, pressing firmly to adhere.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add enough oil to coat the bottom. Alternatively, you can use cooking spray.
Sear the chicken rolls in the skillet until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Transfer the chicken rolls to a baking dish and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and the cheese is melted.
Serve hot with your favorite side dish. Enjoy!
