Its three-star restaurants are the best of the best. Start there if you can afford them. La Bernadin opened in Paris but is now a Manhattan staple. It’s maintained its rating since it began thanks to its delicious seafood and wine. Eleven Madison Park creates a customized fine dining experience. Its multi-course meals are as beautiful as its art-deco atmosphere. Masa is the best place in NYC for Japanese food but also the most expensive. You can get anything from a few courses to a massive meal. Paying for a chance to see the master chef at work while eating wagyu beef will be an experience you’ll never forget.
Per Se sits in Columbus Circle and grabs the attention of anyone who walks by. It has several seasonal options and courses that combine French and American cooking. If you can’t afford any of these places, try a two-star eatery. Look for The Modern, a high-class restaurant within the Museum of Modern Art. You could also try Daniel, a beautiful restaurant owned by renowned Chef Daniel Boulud. A restaurant with only one Michellin Star may also be worth it if you’re on a budget. Try Aureole, a classy spot just off Times Square, or Daniel Boloud’s other restaurant, Daniel.
Most Michelin Star ratings are trustworthy because they tend to stay the same. All the three-star restaurants in NYC still hold that distinction as of 2022. A few have earned other awards; the Mentor Chef Award went to the co-owner of La Bernadin.
