On Tuesday, November 29th at 5:30, documentary filmmaker turned cookbook author, Judith Dwan Hallet gave the online presentation “Discovering Tunisian Cuisine.”.
Co-authored with Raoudha Guellali BenTaarit and Hasna Trabelsi, “Discovering Tunisian Cuisine,” is more than just a set of recipes but also to be a visual journey into the world of Tunisia and delectable cuisine. Judy strongly believes that through food, diverse cultures can better relate to each other. What better way to break down barriers than by sitting around the table and partaking in a good meal. From the introduction to the very end, the recipes are interspersed with personal as well as historic notes of reference that provide a much needed context as well as insights into this lesser known North African cuisine.

Hallet, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, has been making films for nearly 50 years. In 1986, she was hired by National Geographic Television as their Senior Producer for EXPLORER. While at the helm, she produced and directed the hour documentary: The Life and Legend of Jane Goodall. In 1991, she formed her own independent company, Judith Dwan Hallet Productions. Judy has produced over 100 documentaries on subjects as diverse as a tribe living in tree houses in New Guinea, nomads in Afghanistan, gauchos in Argentina, Pope John Paul II and the return of the buffalo to American Indian reservations.
