You can also make this in a pot on the hob using traditional methods but it takes a lot of care and attention to caramelise onions on the hob 😆

Ingredients
– 50g butter
– 1kg onions
– 2 x tsp sugar
– 3 x garlic cloves
– 150ml white wine
– dashes Worcestershire Sauce
– 2 x tbsp plain flour
– 2 x rich beef @knorruk stock pots
– 1.5L boiling water
– 2 x tsp salt
– french baguette
– Gruyere

Method
1. Add butter, finely sliced onions and sugar to slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 8-10 hours
2. Add flour, white wine, garlic & Worcestershire sauce and stir
3. Then finally add stock pots and boiling water, stir, then put lid back on and cook on HIGH for another 1.5 hours
4. Add to a bowl and top with French baguette and gruyere cheese before grilling until melted
