A very simple recipe, and easy to make for both kids and adults.
Reminds you of wonderful childhood memories, doesn’t it?
Serves 6, Preparation time: 30 minutes
1 block of flaky pastry dough
4 apples
2 tbsp brown sugar
for the caramel sauce
80 g (2½ oz) half-salted butter
160 g (5½ oz) sugar
200 ml (6¾ fl oz) single cream (light cream)
1/Prepare the caramel sauce. Melt the sugar in a saucepan on a low heat without stirring. Add the half-salted butter and mix with a wooden spoon until the mixture thickens. Add the cream and stir constantly. Leave the caramel to cool.
2/Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
Remove the apple cores and cut the apples into thin slices using a mandolin.
Roll out the flaky pastry dough to a thickness of 3 mm (tenth of an inch) and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Evenly space the apple slices leaving a 1 cm (½ inch) gap around the sides. Sprinkle with caster sugar.
Then, bake for 15 minutes.
Serve the tart warm with the salted butter caramel.
