How to make classic steak tartare with the best wine pairings! (We test three wines – watch until the end to see which wine pairs best!)
Making classic, bistro-styled steak tartare can be intimidating, but once you see how to make it, you’ll know just how simple and straight forward it is to put together. In fact, steak tartare isn’t really a “recipe” at all – it’s more of an assemblage.
(And don’t forget to check out last week’s video on big batch, hot buttered bourbon {say that 3 times fast!} apple cider – a perfect fall cocktail to start your autumn and winter parties!) )
In today’s video The Wine Sisters’ founder and chief Sommelier, Erin Henderson, whips up the classic steak tartare she learned from a classically trained chef and tests out three different wines to see which pairs best.
In the video, Erin shows you how to make enough steak tartare for two people for dinner (with wine pairings, natch), but on the blog we have the full steak tartare recipe for 4 people as a dinner, or 8 as an appetizer. Just click the link for all the deliciousness.
Erin and her dinner guest, Rebecca, also taste test three wines: a sparkling, white, and red wine, to research what wine pairing works best with steak tartare. The results will surprise you! And as you will see, the wine Erin and Rebecca were really hoping to win, wasn’t the best wine pairing after all (at least for steak tartare.)
