On our recent trips to Mumbai and Delhi, we dined at tresindstudio and orientexpress, Taj Palace, delhi . The contrast between the fast paced service you’d get and expect in let’s say, a Chilli’s and a proper fine dining place serving courses the French style is stunning. While both experiences are pleasant, it’s a whole other game, to just take a break and have a 7 course meal in a span of 3 hours.

Although fine dining restaurants are fairly common in our country, the concept of serving 7-17 courses in a meal is rare and reasonably so. Few people have the time or patience or even means to dine at such places. It’s challenging to keep our generation engaged the entirety of the meal with our fleeting attention spans. We are accustomed to rushing through things and multi tasking, so I think such experiences are well deserved and much needed, even more so, in these times, it also gives you the chance to appreciate the chef’s hard work and creativity. Oh and it doesn’t hurt that the food and service is absolutely amazing!
