I bet you didn’t know that Mcdonald’s made a huge mistake in the 1990s and it’s going to cause major health problems for years to come. And no – it wasn’t the introduction of a bigger burger, fries, or even the enticing commercials to make kids crave their foods. The mistake was switching out beef tallow for canola oil – which is a highly inflammatory vegetable oil. Believe it or not, McDonald’s used to cook their fries in beef tallow but in the 90s they made the switch to cheaper canola oil which they try and position as an improvement for better “flavor and crispiness” despite the fact that it’s highly inflammatory within our cells.
