Benovia Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2017 (California)
Benovia is a vineyard and winery based in the Russian River Valley. Prior to becoming vineyard owners Mary Dewane and Joe Anderson worked in health care, making sure it got to those who needed it most. The Benovia ethos is to work hard in the vineyards, be the best you can and rewards will follow, we certainly found this bottle of Pinot Noir very rewarding.
There are small quantities made of this delicious wine. The grapes are farmed sustainably, they use Burgundian clones, natural yeast fermentation and age them in french oak. It has everything you might want from a Californian Pinot Noir, rich, sweet, luxuriant dark berry fruit, oak spice and complexity, with a firm back bone of acidity, stopping it from being cloying. Lovely wine.
