Domaine de la Combe is a winery owned by the Gadais family, who are 5th generation winemakers. It was purchased in 2016 by the Gadais family and now operated by Pierre Henri Gadais. It is named after a hillside where it is located called Butte de la Combe (Combe is French for “valley”)

The winery consists of 15 hectares, of which 9 hectares are planted with grapes. They produce 5 wines, all of which are made with the Muscadet wines.

The winery is located near Nantes (Loire Valley) between Sevre and Maine rivers, near the village of Saint Fiacre sur Maine

Muscadet is also known as Melon de Bourgogne. The grape is a cousin of the Chardonnay grape and cross between Gouai blanc and Pinot Noir grapes. Muscadet is known to be tangy, acidic and minerally. Muscadet originates from Burgundy but it is better suited to be grown in the Loire Valley as it better suited to survive frost.

The wine is aged 8 months on lees, which are dead yeast particles.
