Brand Napa Valley is winery located on Pritchard Hill in the Napa Valley.
It was purchased by Ed & Debbie Fitts in 2005. Their first vintage in 2009.
It was originally much smaller but now it is 110 acres, of which 12 acres are planted with grapes. It is located 1200-1500 feet above sea level. This is above the fog and frost line which moderates the climate. Pritchard Hill sits on well drained rocky red volcanic soil.
This is the old label of Brand Brio. The label (and the horseshoes) are attributed to Ed Fitts love of horses. In 2019, the winery was sold to James Bean and Christine O Sullivan, who are former Apple executives. Starting with the 2018 vintage, the label changed to a house on the label.
Now Brand makes 3 wines: Their flagship Cabernet Sauvignon wine, their proprietary red blend (mostly Cabernet Franc) and their N.95 label, which is equivalent to Brio. This was the last vintage of Brand Brio.
The 2016 Brand Brio is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. It was aged in 50% new French oak for 20 months.
