Let’s make an Old Cuban. Manhattan bartender Audrey Saunders created this cocktail in 2001 and is part mojito and part French 75.
Recipe:
10-12 mint leaves
2 ounces (60 ml) aged rum
3/4 ounce (22.5 ml) lime juice
3/4 ounce (22.5 ml) simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
1 dash falernum bitters (optional)
top with sparkling wine.
Add everything except the sparkling wine to a cocktail tin. Add ice and shake for 20 seconds. Top with sparkling wine. Garnish with a mint leaf. Cheers!
