Bilou Sauvignon Blanc from France:

Our owner Guillaume Touton grew up in a family of French wine merchants. For over 40 years he has worked to cultivate and grow our connections with top grape growers and wineries. Bilou Sauvignon Blanc is his latest partnership.

Bilou is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley of France. The grapes come from throughout the Valley. The Loire Valley is most famous for its Sancerre region, which is also made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Bilou is a great alternative to Sancerre and their neighboring villages.

The soils in the region consist of a chalk limestone which gives a distinct minerality to the wine. Farmed with Low Input Cultivation= working sustainably in the vineyards. The grapes are vinified with the most Modern Technology. Fermented at Cool Temperatures to preserve the freshness and aromatics in the final wine. Aged “Sur Lie” (French for ‘on the lees’), Lees are dead yeast cells leftover from fermentation. This process adds layers of flavor and complexity.

Tasting Notes: Aromatic and Lively with citrus aromas and notes of apple and passion fruit. The palate is expressive with nice acidity and very well-balanced. A great pairing with appetizers, sushi, oysters, smoked salmon, salads, grilled vegetables and goat cheese!
