I was in the mood for a white wine so I quickly grabbed a bottle of Sancerre and realized that Sancerre wines can be RED!!!!! These wines are called Sancerre Rouge and are made of Pinot Noir in the Sancerre part of the Loire Valley.

The red wines represent a small portion of the wine labeled Sancerre as the vast majority is white wine made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. In stores you will see very few bottles of Sancerre Rouge and it is not well understood by consumers. As a result, I think they are good values and will likely stay that way.

The wine tasted in this episode is as follows:

2018 Jean-Max Roger
Sancerre Rouge
La Grange Dimiere
Sancerre, France

Enjoy!!
