Anura Vineyards – Arpeggio
«This MyVino wine of the month is the 2018 Arpeggio a beautiful red blend from Anura Vineyards. Anura Vineyards is owned and run by the Bouma family since 1989 and lies at the foothills of the Simonsburg mountains between Paarl and Stellenbosch. They produce wines that combine the robust fruit of the new world and the complex and elegant wine making styles of the old world this wine farm is also home to a wide variety of frogs and its latin name Anura is the general classification for the frog species. This rhone styled wine is named after a musical term that refers to the sequence of broken down notes that form a chord. It is Shiraz dominated and blended with Mourvèdre and a good dash of Viognier. Each component was vinified separately and then matured in third and fourth filled french oak barrels so as not to overpower its elegant flavours
they were then brought together to form a wonderfully harmonious wine.
It has notes of sweet cherry mulberry and blackcurrant combined with a subtle fragrance of spice.
The Sweet cherry and blackcurrant continues to the palette as well as a hint of chocolate
and rich oak spiciness. This is truly a great value easy drinking wine.»
