Ah, when it comes to beauty— and food— the French are in a class all by themselves. And we’ve got a crockpot recipe will have you dreaming of romantic Paris. We call it French Style: Crockpot Pot Roast. True bistro flavor, that takes just minutes to prep. A truly magnifique treat to eat.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil, salt, pepper (seasoning outside), 2.5 lb. beef chuck roast, 6 medium to small red potatoes (cut in half), 1 1/2 cups baby carrots, 8 cloves garlic (3 tablespoons), 2 medium onions (quartered), 1 cup celery (chopped), 4 bay leaves, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1/2 tablespoon onion powder, ½ tablespoon dried rosemary, ½ tablespoon dried thyme, ½ tablespoon salt, ½ tablespoon black pepper, 1 ½ cups red wine, 1 ½ cups beef broth, one tablespoon of fresh thyme
Garnish: ¼ cup fresh parsley (chopped).
Recipe:
1. First, season a 2 ½ lb. chuck roast all over with ½ tablespoon salt and pepper.
2. Visual: Voice: Now add two tablespoons of olive oil to a skillet and….
3. Brown your meat on all sides at medium heat well, about 4 minute a side.
4. Now remove your roast to the crockpot.
5. And add 8 cloves chopped garlic or 3 tablespoons minced garlic.
6. And 4 bay leaves.
7. Add ½ tablespoon dried rosemary.
8. Add ½ tablespoon salt.
9. Add ½ tablespoon ground pepper.
10. Now add 1 ½ cups of beef stock.
11. Then toss in 1 ½ cups of your favorite dry red wine. Or you can just drink it and add 1 1/2 more cups of more beef stock instead. Your choice.
12. Now quarter and add 4 red potatoes to the pot…white potatoes will get mushy.
13. And add 2 cups of whole baby carrots.
14. Two cut up onions (quartered).
15. And top everything with one tablespoon with dried thyme.
16. Then mix everything up well.
17. Now turn the crockpot to low. And let it cook slow for 8 hours until tender.
