We continue to travel south through France in our self-built camper van using both free and wild camping spits whenever we can to travel cheaply over a long period.

We head south-east from Paris towards Chablis the northernmost area of the Burgundy wine region and stay on a lovely working vineyard. The Domaine Allain Geoffrey where the owners have created 7 parking bays for motorhomes and provided free water and electric. There is a fascinating museum at the vineyard with thousands of corkscrews on display, one of the largest collections in the world.
You can find more about the vineyard from their website
The Chablis wine that is produced from this region is both dry and a little acidic due to the colder climate here in the north of France. We did enjoy our free wine tasting and made sure to bring a couple of bottles with us for the journey.
The google maps reference for this vineyard can be found here
With topped up batteries and water tanks we head off in search of wild camping spots, our first stop is Sainte-Marie-sur-Ouche with a free parking spot right next to the canal, really peaceful village with beautiful surroundings, you can find it using this link
We drive into Dijon on a wet and rainy day to visit the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, a hugely impressive building and museum that was completely free to the public. Something you rarely find in England. Well worth a visit if you are near there
Our next wild camping spot was in an Aire right next to Lake Villerest. This was amazing a tiered car park south facing over the lake with stunning views to snowcapped mountains in the distance.
If it wasn’t -3°C at night we would have loved to stop there for more than two nights. Be aware that the toilets are closed out of season. Google map link can be found here
So we take the motorway and drive the remaining 4 hours to the Mediterranean and catch our first glimpse of the sea just to the west of Montpellier at a huge beach park up. You can find it via this google map link
In our next video, we have more problems to deal with as our inverter blows its fuses. So please make sure you are subscribed and hit the thumbs up if you enjoy this series.
