One of the best meals in winter … Although it is soup but I consider it a one pot meal…
I used the brown beef stock that I prepared with you in another video; here is the link:

Ingredients:
2 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 & 1/2 kg onions (about 3.3 LB), julienne/sliced
2 tablespoon red wine vinegar
2 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 liters brown beef stock (about 2 quarts)
2 bay leaves
1-2 sprigs of thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
Slices of baguette bread
Gruyere Cheese

Tips:
The onions weight listed in the ingredients is before peeling, trimming and slicing.
I prefer French onion soup with beef stock, but you can use chicken stock with beef stock. Or chicken stock with 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
