A bonus of living in Brussels: being only a three-hour drive from the Champagne region of France, making it a perfect weekend getaway. We recently went on a weekend trip to Reims, one of the main cities of the Champagne region. It’s my third time in the area, and I always leave with the desire to return. There are plenty of places to go wine tasting, from large Champagne houses such as Champagne Pommery in Reims to independent producers like Champagne Alain Bernard, located in the nearby town of Dizy.
If you are a lover of Champagne, I recommend staying longer than a weekend in Reims since there are so many producers to visit. However, if you only have a few days in the Champagne region, a weekend in Reims is a great way to learn about the region and production of one of the world’s most coveted wines.
Have you been to the Champagne region? What is your favorite producer?
