Discover the Rhone Valley with Vint’s special guest, Patrick Will from Vintus. Patrick is a Rhone Valley wines and has been working directly with the Guigal family for 25+ years having visited the vineyards over 50 times in his career. Due to his dedication to the region, Patrick was inducted into the Brotherhood of Châteauneuf du Pape in 2008 and honored as “Person of the Year” by Hospice du Rhône in 2011.
In this session, Patrick provides an overview of the Rhone Valley from North to South. We start with the general differences in climate, grapes grown, and styles between the North and the South. We then dive deeper into each region to discover the sub-appellations and classification of the wines produced. Along our virtual journey, Patrick provides information on the wines featured in the Vint Rhone Valley Collection.
Finally, Patrick spotlights the Guigal Family who he has worked closely for decades, offering deep insight into their vineyards, winemaking, and aging (aka élevage) techniques. We learn about their range of Côte Rotie wines, including their three famous single-vineyard wines which are collectively known as the “La La” wines.
