What better way to celebrate any event than with a delicious French treat. You can’t go wrong with a classic French macaron with vanilla buttercream filling. These dainty, delicate, and delicious cookies that will float right into your mouth and disappear satisfying even the strongest of sweet tooths.
Macarons have been an obsession of mine for the last few years. But when they are not sold cheap, so it kind of starts taking a toll on the wallet. Never did I think I could whip up a batch of this exquisiteness at home!!
Cause’ they may seem intimidating but with this easy-to-follow guide, they don’t have to be. And you can customize them! Want a variety? Use different types of food coloring. Prefer a different flavored icing? Add some lavender extract for a floral feel. One bite, and you’ll feel like you’re in Paris yourself..
Ingredients
for 30 macarons
MACARONS
• 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar(210 g)
• 1 cup almond flour(95 g), finely ground
• 1 teaspoon salt, divided
• 3 egg whites, at room temperature
• ¼ cup granulated sugar(50 g)
• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
• 3 drops pink gel food coloring
VANILLA BUTTERCREAM
• 2 sticks or 1 cup unsalted butter(230 g), at room temperature
• 3 cups powdered sugar(360 g)
•1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 3 tablespoons heavy cream
