Day 5 of this Wine Adventure brings us to our first wine from the Southern Hemisphere, South African Chenin Blanc. Chenin Blanc is known as Vouvray and Saumur in France and as Steen in South Africa. This is an under appreciated white wine that offers a great value for people who prefer whites to red.

We put this bottle through its paces on the tasting chart and come up with a score. Join me, David Devere, Minnesota’s first licensed wine educator, as we open a bottle from this clever advent calendar each day from December 1st to 24th. While I’m not expecting the best wines in the world it does give me an opportunity to teach you about wine appreciation while having fun growing a wine community here on Youtube. Cheers!
