At St. Madeline’s Abbey in Le Barroux, in the south east of France, an extraordinary thing is happening. The Benedictine monks and sisters are producing a high-quality wine called Via Caritatis so they can glorify God. The region which they are using for their vineyards is significant for their Catholic faith, as it was the site of the first ever papal vineyard in the 14th century when the papacy was moved from Rome to the south of France.

EWTN’s Colm Flynn travels to France to meet the monks, and find out what is driving them to mix their contemplative life of prayer and silence, with the hard work and labour of running a vineyard.

Hosted by Montse Alvarado, EWTN News In Depth welcomes guests in a discussion of current events in the Church, politics, and culture, all through the lens of the Catholic faith.
This show is about finding out who we are as people and as Catholics, and how we can confidently live our faith in the world. It is produced by EWTN News:
