You can taste wine, and you can smell it – but can you also hear it? Employees of a sound studio in Lyon, France, have been working for years to elicit a unique timbre from each wine. To achieve that, the engineers and composers of the project The Fifth Sense of Wine have a purpose-developed algorithm. We visited their studio, and a vintner from the Beaujolais wine region to show how it’s all supposed to work.
