Would you like to see Provence from a different perspective ?
Immerse yourselves in the beauty of south of France and refresh your minds.

Provence is known for its unique and diverse beauty.
It is a region in southeastern France bordering Italy and the Mediterranean Sea, is known for its diverse landscapes, from the Southern Alps and Camargue plains to rolling vineyards, olive groves, pine forests and lavender fields. To the south is the Côte d’Azur (or French Riviera), where the elegant city of Nice and glamorous resort towns such as Saint-Tropez and Cannes line the coast

Whether you like sea, mountains, rivers, hills, Alps, well preserved medieval villages, local markets or dreamy small towns, you will content yourself here.

Since Provence covers such a large area, it’s no surprise that the geology in this region is quite varied. Provence has the Alps bordering on its north eastern edge, the Pyrenees to the south west and the coast at the bottom.

Folds in the rock strata can be seen in numerous places around the region – take a visit to the Reserve Géologique de Haute Provence near Digne les Bains to see some impressive features and to learn more in their dedicated museum.

Historically speaking, Provence is France’s first, and therefore oldest, wine-producing region. It is said that the Phoceans brought the grapevine to Provence when they founded Marseille over 2,000 years ago!

Nowadays, Provençal wines remain world-renowned. The region is especially famed for its rosé wines. If you are interested in learning more about wine tasting and production, check out our blog here, or learn more about the southern French wine regions here.

As stated by the Condé Nast Traveller, Provence’s lavender fields are Europe’s answer to Japan’s cherry blossoms.
The region is famed for its annual lavender blooms. The peak of this season is mid-July, and the lavender begins to be harvested in August, finishing by the end of the month.
Lavender has long been associated with Provence and you would be hard-pressed to visit the region without coming across delicate bundles of the dried flower. Useful for soothing headaches, relieving stress, helping find sleep and much more, be sure to pick some up.
