This delicious Doughnuts lookalike are actually made of Choux pastry that Puff up when deep fried.
If you are looking at dressing up as a witch for halloween then this might just be the recipe for you. the cauldron of nuns fart is a new French Halloween recipe that is easy to make and that kids and adults will love.
the Nuns farts are is in fact simple dough balls made out of choux pastry When deep fried, the choux pastry transforms by magic in those lovely, puffy, airy and delicious doughnuts like balls. once done, the “Nun’s fart” are rolled in sugar and serve with various filling such as jam, salted caramel, chestnut cream or anything you like.
but don’t go thinking that these are simple doughnuts, the texture, consistency and taste is totally different. the advantage of those halloween baked treats is that they are filled with air and are not heavy nor oily as a standard doughnut. you will be amazed to see how different they actually are. You can easily eat a few of those and not feel full at all. its like a profiterole fresh out of the oven.
So here it is my Halloween cauldron of treat called the cauldron of nuns fart it is a new treat for halloween 2017 and I highly recommend it. (it will please adults too)
For the setup they are easy to!! once they are made you can easily stock them in a small cauldron, decorate it and its ready to take around the neighborhood.
Ingredients used in this recipe:
For the Choux pastry:
50cl (half liter) / 2.113 cups of Full cream Milk
120 grams / 0.52 cups of plain butter
1 teaspoon of fine salt
100 grams / 0.52 cups of granulated sugar
300 grams /2.4 cups of plain flour
5 whole eggs
A few zest of grated lemon (optional)
Flavoring of your choice which – avoid food colorings (optional)
For the deep frying:
in this recipe I used 2 litres / 4.2 US pints of canola oil
but you can use peanut oil or grapeseed oil
Coating and fillings:
Granulated sugar or icing sugar.
Jams, salted caramel in jar, chestnut cream or anything you can come up with.
