Are you ready for some mouthwatering, delicious food from the one and only 2021 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Our first stop was France. We had to stop and see if there was anything special on the menu by Chef Remy from Ratatouille. After all, he is from France. We didn’t see Remy but we did try some delicious food. The first was the Beignet aux Trois Fromages, which is a warm beignet filled with three cheeses. This is not your classic beignet dough from New Orleans. The beignet tastes more like brioche in my opinion. It is a savory dish, not a sweet one. There is almost like a cheese gravy or béchamel sauce in the middle of the beignet. It is absolutely delicious. However, there is one little disclaimer: there is some type of spice that has some strong influence on the dish, one that is not listed on the menu. I did not go back up to ask what the spice is, but just want to give you all a heads up. If you try it, let me know what you think? Do you like the spice or not?
The other dish that we tried which was out of this world was the Coq au Vin, Pommes Dauphine from the France booth. It is chicken braised in burgundy wine with bacon and puffed potatoes. I loved mixing the potatoes in the burgundy wine sauce and taking a bite with all of the flavors. I will likely get this dish again. Have you all tried this dish?
Our next stop on this eating around the world tour was The Alps pop-up booth. So, this booth is located right past Germany. I went to Germany looking for this special dish, and almost had a panic attack when I read the menu and it wasn’t there. Do not fear, it was just one more booth down at The Alps. I have been waiting and waiting for this booth to open and it opened early before the initially scheduled date.
Enjoy the beauty of the chef scraping off the melted Raclette Swiss cheese onto the bread and potatoes. This is the Warm Raclette Swiss cheese with Baby Potatoes, Cornichons and Baguette. They also have an option with ham. I kept it simple and got the dish without the Ham which was $4.50 US dollars. The cheese and potato combination with the baguette was delicious. The cheese is mild and does not have a strong or bitter taste. It is mild and delicious.
We did end up getting some other treats, but I forgot to video them. I would put together a montage of the pictures we got during this time in a later video.
