Ingredients:
2 lb. deli sliced roast beef (amount varies)
6 French rolls (your choice)
Slices provolone cheese (optional)
4 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. all purpose flour
1/4 cup red wine
2 cups beef broth divided
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. In saucepan over medium- high heat, melt butter then sprinkle flour. Whisk thoroughly until thin paste forms.
2.Mix red wine or beef broth into flour mixture. Cook over medium high- heat for 2 mins.
3. Slowly pour in 1/2 cup of beef broth. Whisk to combine.
4. Once beef broth is incorporated, pour remaining broth & Worcestershire sauce. Bring mixture to boil & cook 5 mins. or until slightly thickened.
5. Season with salt & pepper to taste.
a. Add the roast beef & let it warm in the au jus until it’s hot.
b. Broil French bread until toasty.
c. Assemble with cheese & roast beef.
d. Serve with Au jus & dip sandwiches.
