Amoretti’s Restaurant owner Gabriele Moretti has told Sky News about the “heartbreaking” impact on his business as Sydney remains under lockdown.
New South Wales recorded 98 new COVID-19 cases overnight, including 20 who were infectious in the community.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian has said the number of cases infectious in the community is one which authorities are “really keen to nudge” in order to bring Greater Sydney out of lockdown.
According to Mr Moretti, Sydney’s ongoing lockdown is “heartbreaking”.
“I just feel like there wasn’t much planning, the government had twelve months to think about this from the last lockdown that we had,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“It’s taken them this long to help small business, and we still haven’t received any help as of yet.”
