The snowy weather in Samarkand, Uzbekistan today reminds me of that trip I took to lovely St. Barts watching skinny French drive compact cars, smoke incessantly and eat nothing all day. St. Barts is not too accessible from the States (there is a reason for that) but for those determined few the trip is definitely worth it because it is an island with beautiful beaches, quality dining spots and quality vacationers.
