Tonight I will talk about the national grape of Spain – Tempranillo…which also has like 40 different names depending on the location, which clearly does not help for such a semi-wine-geek like me. This grape grows almost all over the Spain, but the best expressions can be found in the two most famous regions: Rioja and Ribera del Duero. I will explain the differences between these two regions and we will see how these wines will perform in my glasses(warning:one wine will be 8years older then other!).
On the Rioja side: Vina Valoria Gran Reserva 2008 by Bodegas Valoria
On the Ribera del Duero side: Arzuaga Reserva 2016 by Bodegas Arzuaga.
