A showcase of Omurice Keisuke at Bugis+ Singapore. Originating from Japan, there are now a whooping 21 Keisuke branches in Singapore! And I believe they will have more due to their overwhelming popularity here in Singapore. Most of them sell ramen, but this is a special one selling omurice and spaghetti!

First, let me share the origins of Keisuke…

Keisuke Takeda, founder of Ramen Keisuke, is born in 1969 in Hiroshima. Fond of cooking as a child, he started his career as a chef with a French restaurant and worked there for 12 years. He then moved to a Japanese restaurant and worked for 5 years before opening ‘Bimisenryu Tanka’, a modern Japanese restaurant in 2004.

Omurice Keisuke is Keisuke’s 17th outlet in Singapore; a brand new concept bringing classic Japanese comfort food enjoyable for all.

Omurice is a Western-influenced Japanese dish that consists of a wrapped omelette (“omu”) over western fried rice with ketchup. Originating more than 100 years ago in Kyushu, the Japanese soul food is a staple dish in many Japanese homes and restaurants, reasonably priced and affordable to the masses. Most Japanese diners have grown up eating omurice and this yōshoku (Japanese-styled western food) brings back many childhood memories.

The delectable eggs remain the star of this melt-in-your mouth masterpiece. Omurice Keisuke’s version of Omurice features Keisuke’s own locally-farmed eggs which come from hens fed with omega-rich grains. The result is a richer and creamier omelette that works perfectly with the western-style Japanese fried rice.

Cheese-lovers has the option of adding cheese, the cheese is a combination of three kinds of cheese, mozzarella and two types of cheddars which will even be melted right in front of you over your main dish!
