Since 1925, the same family has been growing grapes and making wine from the originally 7-hectare vineyard in Bergerac and Monbazillac in southwestern France, a little over a hundred kilometres east of Bordeaux.
Since the beginning of 1925, the family has had a sustainable focus, and they have always worked organically without showing off. That’s just the way it has always been with them. Today, the vineyard is certified organic. Many of the wines are 100% organic, while others are still being converted.
The wines are generally based on classic Bordeaux grape varieties such as the red Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon and the green varieties Semillion, Sauvignon Blanc. Domaine du Haut Montlong presents a wide selection of wines, ranging from the dry and crisp wines in all three colours to the sweet and intense white dessert wines from Monbazillac.
