Over five years, the new owners renovated this unique place with a passion for transforming it into a luxurious hotel complete with a sublime spa in the heart of a restored vineyard estate.
1582, a key date in the history of the Estate – On 1 February 1582, the Bishop of Montpellier gave Pierre Verchant an estate, which acquired his name and remained in the family for the next two centuries. On 23 September 1878, Jules Leenhardt acquired the estate and manor house inspired by the “Montpellier Follies,” built in the unique grounds’ heart. He paid particular attention to these grounds, even calling on eminent Swiss landscape architects of the time: the Bühler brothers.
A picturesque setting with old stone buildings, a contemporary gem – The deliberately intimate hotel maintains a low accommodation capacity to promote optimal service and comfort. 26 luxurious apartments, rooms, and suites from 30 to 90 m² achieve a subtle blend of old architecture and contemporary design that extends into the hotel’s reception, lounges, and lounge bar. The château itself has 9 rooms and suites. 14 are located in outbuildings, including 2 rooms for people with reduced mobility; there are also 2 apartments and a detached villa occupying the former forge. Each room is unique and differs in its décor, configuration, and facilities.
Dining – The restaurant “Verchant” of the Domaine de Verchant is open throughout the week, whether for a business lunch or dinner with friends or family. With stunning views of the outdoor pool and grounds, come and discover the skills and creativity of the executive chef Mathieu Gourreau. Choose from the chef’s seasonal menus, where the emphasis is on regional produce and enhanced by a warm, intimate atmosphere. ”Breakfast” – Whether as a buffet or through room service, have your breakfast in the Domaine de Verchant hotel and spa on the edge of the garden or your room’s terrace. Enjoy the delicacies prepared by the chef when you wake up each day, accompanied by one of the many teas or coffees on the breakfast menu. ”Lunch” – The restaurant offers an à la carte menu and set menus with a southern French flair prepared by chef Mathieu Gourreau. With the Mediterranean breakfast, you can sample the flavors of the south with the changing seasons. ”Dinner”- The Domaine de Verchant’s restaurant is a great place for dinner with friends or family. ”La Plage dans Les Vignes” – An absolute must for this charming oasis among the vines: an invitation to escape, relax and unwind… You will experience the pleasure of lazing in the sun, with Mediterranean scents wafting by… just 10 minutes from the city center protected from the urban bustle, a unique, exceptional place. The restaurant among the vines, seating 70, can sample cuisine with a southern French flair, refined and delicious. The relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere will relax and delight you.
The “La Plage” bar, a concept combining: champagne, innovative cocktails, DJ, bands, tapas… a whole program over the summer season. The whole beach team will be at your service to leave nothing to be desired and to help you have a truly relaxing experience. The appealing 11 x 21 m swimming pool overlooking the vineyard and lined with sunbeds and deckchairs are conducive to that luxuriousness found on all the best beaches. The restaurant, bar area, and parties are open to everyone, subject to availability. For customers who are not staying at the hotel, access to the pool is only granted when coupled with a restaurant option, either by reserving a table or with a relaxation option. You also need to have a privilege card, which you can request from the friendly staff.
