Parisians could return to enjoy their favourite cafes and restaurants, as outdoor terraces were opened as COVID-19 restrictions eased, on Wednesday.

People could be seen dining on the terraces of Paris restaurants and cafes following a six-month COVID shutdown. The night time curfew has also been pushed back from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Footage also shows people queuing outside Paris’ infamous Louvre museum, as cultural venues also opened. In addition Paris’ boutiques also opened with queues forming outside.

According to John Hopkins University, France recorded a daily increase of 17,223 COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, and 228 related deaths. In total France has registered over 5.9 million cases and 108,201 deaths.
