Everyone needs a good bread recipe! I am here to share this with you. A simple and easy Classic French BOULE recipe. Now this calls for a DUTCH OVEN, if you do not have one, you can use a cast iron skillet or a sheet pan. You will need some modifications which I will explain down below.
Ingredients:
600 g Bread flour
2 C warm water 100-110 degrees F
20 g kosher salt
7 g yeast
5 g brown sugar
If you DO have a Dutch oven then follow these steps.
1.Preheat your oven to 450°F WITH your Dutch oven inside with the lid on.
2. Once your dough has proofed as shown in the video. Turn it onto a floured parchment paper..
3. Carefully remove your Dutch oven from the preheated oven.
4. Score your dough and carefully place inside the Dutch oven and cover with the lid and place back inside the oven.
5.Bake for 30 mins with the lid on.
6. After 30 mins, remove the lid amd bake for an additional 15mins.
7. Remove Dutch oven from the oven and take out your bread amd place on a wire cooling rack.
8. The internal temperature of the boule should be at 200°F LET COOL FOR 30mins before cutting into it.
If you do not have a DUTCH OVEN, place a tray of water inside your oven before you preheat to 450F.
Remove the water tray after 15 mins. Continue to cook your bread for an additional 35 mins. You want to check on it. If it needs a little more color, give it another 5-10 mins.
Your bread will be done, when the internal temperature reaches 200F.
IMPORTANT!!! Let you bread rest for at least 30 mins BEFORE cutting into it!!!
