Jean-Marie and his wife Myriam make traditional and classic wine from their small vineyard in the village of Soultzmatt in the heart of what is locally known as La Vallée Noble (the noble valley), a little south of Colmar in Alsace. Right here, between the two highest peaks in the Vosges, Petit Ballon and Grand Ballon, the microclimate is particularly suitable for growing grapes. Here are good temperatures, lots of sun and limited rainfall.
