Have you ever made French toast or in German “arme Ritter” for breakfast? My simple recipe for the vegan version requires not only a few ingredients namely bread, oat milk, banana, cocoa, salt, coconut oil and berries but tastes really super delicious!
Actually, I often eat a delicious avocado toast with braised tomatoes or vegan and gluten-free pancakes on the weekend but I must say that this easy recipe for the vegan french toast really excited me. So few ingredients are needed, which you often have at home anyway and it really is prepared so quickly! Especially if you have a little less time, but still want to enjoy something special on the weekend, I highly recommend the chocolate French toasts! And let’s be honest: there is not sooooo much difference to pancakes not or what do you think? 🙂
I added a bit of cocoa to the recipe because I just love the chocolatey note in combination with berries and maple syrup. You can of course also use for example cinnamon and instead of the berries applesauce or fresh apples, also very tasty! No matter if you use fresh or a bit older bread for the French toast, by putting it in the delicious banana cocoa mixture, the bread soaks up and is ready to fry 🙂
If you stop by my Instagram account @magda.mag.das, you can also watch a video of the recipe and see exactly how I made the french toast. It was really super fun to film, cut and edit the video (this was the first time I did it all by myself, but my boyfriend filmed of course) which is why I am a bit proud. I would be very happy if you look at my video 🙂
Do you like French Toast/ “arme Ritter” and have you ever made them yourself? What fruits do you like best on it and would you rather enjoy them with cocoa or cinnamon? 🙂
Lots of love,
Magda
