This is the juiciest and most aromatic french apple cake, quick and easy to make, with readily available ingredients. My go-to lazy Sunday morning cake – goes perfectly with a cup of tea and a nice video 😉

Equipment:
– 9 inch (22cm) springform or regular cake pan. I buttering and lining it with baking paper to prevent cake sticking to the walls.
Ingredients:
– 1 stick of butter (115g)
– 3/4 cup (90g) of flour
– pinch of salt
– 3/4 tsp of baking powder
– 2 eggs
– 3/4 cup (150g) of sugar
– 1.5 oz (44ml) of dark rum – In my opinion, Myer’s is the best for this.
– 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
– 4 apples (I used Gala, Red Delicious, Fuji, and Honeycrisp, but feel free to mix and match).
Don’t forget to preheat your over and measure ingredients by weight!
