Named after a 75mm field gun from WW1 this drink is far more pleasant than you would think. Where it was invented we can’t say but it shows up in the book “Here’s How” in 1927 and then in Harry Craddock’s “The Savoy Cocktail Book.” Beyond that it spread fast and has always been popular, it in bubbly refreshing flavor.

The Specs
1 Oz Gin
.5 Oz Lemon Juice
.5 Oz Simple Syrup
3 Oz Champagne/Sparkling Wine

Put the first three ingredients in your tin and shake over ice. Poor into a fluted glass and top with the bubbly of your choice.
